Global Gathering began in early 1991 while I was producing a public event for His Holiness the Dalai Lama. With the use of grassroots outreach and direct broadcast satellite a small team of us were able to quickly develop an event that reached thousands of people. Broadcasting from our live event in Santa Fe, to audiences gathered throughout North America, we were simultaneously united to hear the Dalia Lama talk about world peace. Since the USA had just entered Desert Storm we put the White House phone number in our credits as a call to action. For two days following the event their phone lines were flooded. That resulted in an invitation to His Holiness the Dalai Lama from President Bush, Sr. It was very inspiring!

 

Global Gathering was formed to unite people in celebration, creating a context to explore our beliefs and world we share.
